Work packages and tasks

The activities in TeleRescuer project are organised in 6 work packages, with some of their tasks presented below.

Work Package 1: Detailed identification of needs, formulating requirements (WP-Leader: SUT)

  • Task 1.1 Identification of the needs (SUT, subcontractor CMRS)
  • Task 1.2 Analysis of the issues concerning the mobility of UV (SUT, VSB)
  • Task 1.3 Analysis of the issues concerning images and physical quantities to be measured by the UV (AIT, STR, SUT, VSB, SIM)
  • Task 1.4 Analysis of the issues concerning the communication and control (AIT, VSB, STR, SUT)
  • Task 1.5 Analysis of the issues concerning navigation and map building (VSB, SUT)
  • Task 1.6 Formal specification of requirements (SUT + subcontractor CMRS, VSB, AIT, STR, SIM)

Work Package 2: Research into the UV (WP-Leader: VSB)
  • Task 2.1 Research into the mechatronic subsystem of the UV (SUT, VSB)
  • Task 2.2 Research into the communication system and sensory system (UC3M)
  • Task 2.3 Research into the control system (VSB)
  • Task 2.4 Development of methodologies for building maps (VSB)
  • Task 2.5 Research into the methods of the autonomous operation of a UV in a known environment (SUT)
  • Task 2.6 System integration (VSB, all technological partners)

Work Package 3: Research into virtual teleportation technology and development of a training simulator (WP-Leader: STR)
  • Task 3.1 Development of the concept of a methodology and system for virtual teleportation: (STR, ALL)
  • Task 3.2 Research into knowledge representation (STR)
  • Task 3.3 Development of a knowledge-based methodology of virtual immersion (STR, SIM)
  • Task 3.4 Prototyping software and hardware of the human-machine interface (STR, SIM)
  • Task 3.5 Integration of virtual teleportation technology (STR, SIM)
  • Task 3.6 Prototyping 2D/3D visual hardware/software system for the training simulator (SIM, STR)
  • Task 3.7 Development of methods for realistic simulations (STR, VSB, UC3M, SIM)
  • Task 3.8 Prototyping the human-to-machine interface for the training simulator (STR, SUT, UC3M, SIM)
  • Task 3.9 Training simulator software development, system integration and extensive testing (SIM, SUT, UC3M, STR, SUT subcontractor CMRS)

Work Package 4: Field tests of the system and its components (WP-Leader: AIT)
  • Task 4.1 Setting up the detailed plan of the tests (KPX; consulting with ALL, including the subcontractor CMRS)
  • Task 4.2 Carrying out the tests (KPX; ALL partners participate, including the subcontractor CMRS)
  • Task 4.3 Reporting the tests (KPX; ALL partners participate, including the subcontractor CMRS)

WP 5: Dissemination of results (WP-Leader: SUT)
  • Task 5.1 Managing the official TeleRescuer website (SUT)
  • Task 5.2 Preparing the presentations of the completed tasks (ALL)
