The European Commision (EC)

The European Commission (EC) is the executive body of the European Union responsible for proposing legislation, implementing decisions, upholding the Union's treaties and day-to-day running of the EU.

EC represents the interests of Europe as a whole (as opposed to the interests of individual countries). The term 'Commission' refers to both the college of commissioners and the institution itself – which has its headquarters in Brussels, Belgium with offices in Luxembourg. The Commission also has offices known as 'representations' in all EU member countries.

Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS)

The RFCS supports research projects in coal and steel sectors.
 

The yearly budget of the Research Fund amounts to around € 55 million and it is dedicated to supporting research and demonstration projects, accompanying measures, supporting and preparatory actions in the field of coal and steel and includes work on energy-related subjects.
